Pandit Ulhas Bapat is a living master of the Santoor. Bapat is one of the only musicians that tunes his instrument in his own chromatic scale. This allows him to produce rich, concert sounds.A santoor is an instrument that combines 100 strings and two curved wooden sticks that has a sound that can be mistaken for a piano or harp. The santoor is closely related to the hammered dulcimer of North America as well.
